Dr. Michael Mills PhD
Pastor

Michael has been serving as our Senior Pastor since January 2020. He received his MDiv in 2016 and his PhD in Preaching in 2021, both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Married since July 2013, Michael and Ashley have two daughters, Josie and Millie.

Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was six years old and was baptized a few years later.  He felt God calling him to pastoral ministry at the age of fourteen while his dad was serving with the Air Force in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Michael aims to evangelize, develop, and equip disciples in order to reach the community for the Kingdom of God. Michael and Ashley are excited and humbled to serve Greensport Church.

Mark Sanders
Youth Director

Mark graduated from Ashville High School in 2001, and graduated from The University of Alabama where he also played football. Mark and Heather have been married since 2005 and have five children: Cade, Caylee, Maddie, Naomi, and Sadie Kate.

Mark felt a calling to work with youth as a teacher and coach since 2014 and has served as the youth director at Greensport since 2022.

Tom Sanders
Music Director

Tom Sanders has been married to Teresa Sanders for 42 years. They have three children, Matthew, Mark, and Anna, and ten wonderful grandchildren.

Tom had attended Greensport Church since 1968 and attended Ashville High School and graduated in 1976. Tom has been a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal and superintendent in the Ashville area. He loves leading the worship service and singing praises to the Lord. He believes that music and song, in accordance with the pastor’s sermons, brings together a meaningful worship experience.

Leighanna Smith
Children’s Director

Leighanna Smith has been working with Greensport’s Children’s Ministry for many years and has recently been appointed as Children’s Director for her innovative ideas and strong, Godly leadership abilities,

Leighanna attended Ashville High School and is now using her Biology/Chemistry degree from UAB as a Senior Analyst at TCI of Alabama. Leighanna has been married to Josh Smith, a nurse and deacon at Greensport, since 2015. They are expecting their first child, Henry Scott in February 2023.
